With warmer weather on the way, my wife and I have started planting some seeds indoors for this year’s garden. We have twelve pots designated for carrots. However, after two weeks of waiting, only two sprouted. It’s a little depressing, but it reminds me of 1 Cor. 3:6 which says: “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
Even as I plant and water the gospel seed in my children’s hearts, I know that only God can make it grow. I cannot force the gospel to grow in my children’s hearts no more than I can force those carrots to grow. So I wait for life to come bursting forth knowing God has a green thumb that is more than capable.
